Last week I was tagged by Loulou, a fellow American blogger in France: at Chez Loulou and also a contributor at Like to Cook.

I am to reveal Seven Weird and Random Things About Me. And there are rules...

My answers to this meme are around a food theme, but if I tagged you, you can just answer randomly or randomly choose a theme...

1)I am a maniac for maybe one thing only...how I load the dishwasher. I've got it down to rocket science precision and my husband need not even try to apply for this job, he can be forever my unloader, but should he even try to put the dirty dishes in, he can be sure that I'll take most of them back out and start over. BTW, the rest of my housewife skills (except for cooking), suck.

2) I have eaten freshly harvested Rocky Mountain oysters and even kind of liked them. The cute Hawaiian cowboys doing the castrating probably distracted me...

3) I have eaten a paté made with entire little, itty, bitty, tiny birds (grives...here's a recipe, heads and all. Just take a slice of the loaf shaped paté or pull on a protruding beak, and eat...or smear on bread and make a birdy sandwich...I didn't really like this.

4) When my future French mother-in-law thought I was too skinny, she would beat some raw egg yolks with sugar until thick and creamy and spread it on toast and "make" me eat it. Funny how she doesn't offer me this anymore.

5) I like raw meat, especially carpaccio and sashimi. My step-dad, who I used to demand over-cooked steaks from way back when I was a teenybopper, will laugh at this one.

6) Noisy gum chewing drives me completely bananas.

7) I would rather go to a fancy restaurant than get fancy jewelry for dates like wedding anniversaries. Our 15 year wedding anniversary is coming up next month and I have been printing out addresses like this one for my husband as kind little suggestions.
